Choose Our Muse!

We asked and you delivered! In May 2008, we invited all Canadians to help us Choose Our Muse as part of our first biennial Portrait Commissioning Programme. We are commissioning three portraits by Canadian artists—and we called on you to help us select the portrait subjects. We asked you to nominate a living individual or individuals who have made a significant contribution to your community or to the country, and whose portrait would enhance our existing portrait collection. We were pleased to receive nominations for individuals from all walks of life, each of whom tells a uniquely Canadian story.

A Commissioning Committee will be responsible for making the final selection of portrait subjects.
